IASWC Awards and Honours

The IASWC has instituted the following awards and honours from 2004 onwards for outstanding contributions in the field of Natural Resource Management.  

Honorary Fellows: This award was instituted in 2004 to honour an individual who have made outstanding professional contributions at the national/international level in the field of Natural Resource Conservation.

Fellows: This award was initiated in 2004 to honour an individual in recognition of professional outstanding contributions and service to the IASWC.

Dr K.G. Tejwani Award: This award was instituted during 1992-93 in the name of the founder President of the Association, Late Dr K.G. Tejwani for Management of Natural Resources for the professionals contribution significantly in the field of Soil and Water Conservation.

Dr D.N. Puri Award:   This award was instituted and announced during 2018 in the name of Dr. DARSHANA NAND PURI Award for excellence in Research, Training, Development in conservation of Natural Resource Management like Soil, Water and Biodiversity in India.
IASWC Gold Medal: This award was instituted in 2004 to honour the members of IASWC for contribution and service to the Association. Two additional awards under the category of IASWC Gold Medal for field functionaries and technical professionals have been introduced from 2014.

Young Scientist Award: This award was instituted in 2004 to honour an individual in recognition of contributions during last five years towards development, conservation and management of natural resources.

Young Soil Conservationists (Field Functionary) Award: This award was instituted and announced during 2020 to honour an individual in recognition of contributions during last ten years towards development, conservation and management of natural resources.

Budding Scientist Award: This award was instituted and announced during 2020 to honour an individual in recognition of contributions during last five years towards development, conservation and management of natural resources.

Best Research Paper Award: These Awards have been initiated in 2013. Annually, four research papers, one each in the discipline of Engineering & Hydrology, Soil Science & Agronomy, Forestry & Agroforestry and Social Science based on the scientific contribution of the article published in Indian Journal of Soil Conservation are awarded as Best Research Papers.
