Resource Conserving Technologies for Social Upliftment

The National Conference on Resource Conserving Technologies for Social Upliftment (RCTSU - 2004) was organized during 7-9 December, 2004 at NASC Complex, New Delhi for harmonizing bio-physical research and capacity building programmes with the emerging socio-economic issues and enabling policies for meeting challenges of distributive development. In all 265 registered delegates and many invited resource persons, experts, research managers and policy planners participated in the three days deliberations. The coverage consisted of 26 states, 31 ICAR Institutes and National Research Centres, 18 SAUs, 51 Central & State Agencies including NGOs.

I once again personally thank you and your organization for active support and contribution in organizing the event successfully.

The Post Conference Proceedings have also now been published in a book form. The Organizing Committee of the Conference had decided to print only limited number of copies in the hard cover book form. Orders for hard copy can be placed by sending a Demand Draft of Rs. 750/- (Rs. 700/- cost of book + Rs. 50/- postage charges) favouring 'Indian Association of Soil and Water Conservationists' payable at Dehradun. One can also get the book from the office of Association on payment of Rs. 700/-. All the participants of the Conference will however be provided with the CDs of the book for ease in handling.
